ÍøÆغÚÁÏ General Manager Anthony Padgett said the NPR and PBS affiliate is working to fully identify what impacts will be felt. He said programs may change and jobs could be cut.

The Trump administration asked Congress to cut $9 billion in funding, including $1.1 billion from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which funds NPR, PBS and member stations including ÍøÆغÚÁÏ.

Congress has taken back funding for public media, which hurts the budgets of public radio news outlets across the state.

All four Republicans representing districts that are in Franklin County or directly border it voted in favor of cutting $1.1 billion from public media. Democratic U.S. Rep. Joyce Beatty missed the very narrow vote.
