Connor Grubb, the Blendon Township police officer accused of murder after shooting and killing pregnant woman Ta'Kiya Young in the parking lot of a grocery store in 2023 asked a Franklin County judge earlier this week to move his trial to a different county. The judge has denied that request.

A Franklin County judge will decide if Blendon Township police officer Connor Grubb should be tried in the county or grant a defense request for a change of venue.

Former Columbus police officer Adam Coy was convicted in November in the 2020 shooting death of Andre Hill.

Jury selection continues Monday to hear a civil case filed by Dr. William Husel, who was acquitted of several counts of murder. He is suing his former employer, Mount Carmel, for defamation in the suit.

Both sides in a dispute between the Columbus branch of the NAACP and the national organization are trying to work on a solution out of court. A hearing scheduled for Tuesday was postponed.
